About Your Bottom Line
Founded in 2004, Your Bottom Line (YBL) was the brainchild of its founder Ross Libbey. We specialize in providing personal and corporate tax services, bookkeeping, payroll, QuickBooks training, Virtual CFO services across Oshawa, Bowmanville, Durham Region, Toronto and the GTA plus.
YBL was born as Ross saw that most clients were either misunderstood or ignored by their accountants. As a result, most clients felt like ‘just another number’ and they were unable to get the advice they truly needed to make business decisions efficiently.
So, Ross turned the predominant business model on its head by focusing on the client first and making sure that they had constant access to the advisory services, which could genuinely help their businesses flourish.
We operate predominantly in Durham Region, ON (Newcastle, Bowmanville, Oshawa, Whitby, Pickering/Ajax), North to the Kawarthas. That said, given the inclination of more and more clients to operate remotely, we now have clients coast-to-coast across Canada, and internationally.
Over the past fourteen years, we have grown substantially from our humble beginnings, and we are still growing and expanding. Always changing, we have introduced state-of-the-art internal systems for better client management and have streamlined and refined the client onboarding process in a never-ending effort to better know, understand and help our clients. We also focus on new technologies to ensure that YBL and its clients stay ahead of the curve.
We have managed to ensure that we don’t have ‘down-times’, which a lot of tax advisories have. Earlier, it used to be the case that business was crazy in March-June, slow from July-October, and then the peak would continue. Since we handle more than just taxes, we use the so-called down-times to work more on our clients’ other needs outside of tax season like bookkeeping, payroll, advisory, etc., which are all year long.

What sets us apart from the rest of our competitors is that we take a very different view than most firms when it comes to the concept of ‘TEAM’. Our view is simple: the TEAM comprises of US and YOU, not just us. That’s why we work so hard to build a solid relationship with you as a client. One aspect that makes us second to none is that we are rapidly growing and expanding and we are getting a lot of referrals from our existing clients. We are technology driven and family oriented. Most notably, we are one of the few Durham accountants who can handle US tax returns.
Our client base consists largely of small and mid-sized businesses, which are growing and which need some assistance getting from here to there. Our clients are mostly those who are not getting from the current accountant what they want. Or, they don’t even have an accountant!

We do QuickBooks and other training, so if you wish you can do the details and we can ‘bat cleanup’. You do not have to worry about dealing with the Canada Revenue Agency or the ongoing nightmare of preparing and filing various tax returns.
We talk the language of bankers and lenders to keep them happy and open to increasing lines of credit to finance expansion or growth when and if needed.
